There are three main bed-and-breakfast locations in Waynesboro, Virginia. The Iris Inn Bed and Breakfast is located on the intersection of VA 624 and I-64 and is closest to the Rockfish Gap turnpike, where the Blue Ridge Parkway turns into Skyline Drive. With Waynesboro, Virginia being the largest nearby town to Rockfish Gap, a majority of the traditional chain hotels and motels are located on the Main Street of Waynesboro, such as the Deluxe Budget Motel, Quality Inn and the Super 8. Lodging in the SNP area is mainly along Skyline Drive and comprises a variety of settings. Skyland Resort is located at the highest point along the nearly 100-mile long parkway, is over 100 years old and features four-diamond, "luxury accommodations." Other lodging accommodations along Skyline Drive include the Big Meadows Lodge and the Lewis Mountain Cabins. All three lodging options are hosted and run by Aramark Parks and Destinations, the main concessionary provider for SNP.
While in Waynesboro, golf lovers may want to visit the Waynesboro Country Club. Get out of the car at Rockfish Gap and enjoy a stretch of the 2,100-mile footpath known as the Appalachian Trail (AT). Several AT intersections are also found along Skyline Drive as well. There are also multiple tourist, food and historic destinations located along Skylind Drive, which traverses throughout the northern and southern ends of the SNP.
