Indoor Water Parks in Waterbury, CT

According to the World Waterpark Association, indoor water parks are the fastest-growing part of the industry. The first indoor American water park opened in 1994, offering guests the opportunity to experience attractions such as water slides, chutes and more during all seasons. Visitors to Waterbury, Connecticut can enjoy CoCo Key, the city's only indoor water park.
  1. Indoor Water Park Attractions for Families

    • Waterbury's CoCo Key includes 50,000 square feet of attractions. Families with children ages 3 to 10 can enjoy the Parrot's Perch, an interactive play zone with slides for the younger set. The Coral Reef Cavern pool has a variety of activities for kids ages 6 and up. Jump on over-sized lily-pads or shoot some hoops in the specialized water court.

    Thrill Water Rides

    • CoCo Key's three tallest slides, each reaching 40 feet in height, plunge riders down in a rush of water. The Gator's Gush, Pelican Plunge and Barracuda Blast slides all have a strict rider height requirement of 48 inches or taller. The Coconut Grove Adventure River winds guests around Parrot's Perch through a series of tubes. Although the park recommends this ride for guests of all ages, its fast pace might not be appropriate for very young children.

    Dry Activities

    • Those needing a break from the water-filled attractions can play video games at the Key Quest Arcade. Those looking for a more relaxing non-water activity can check out the Sun Deck. This seasonal attraction features a tanning deck and lounge chairs.

    Water Park Passes

    • Visitors can purchase Day Passes or Annual Passes to CoCo Key. Day Passes are sold both online and at the park. CoCo Key offers a Full Day Pass, which is valid for one entire day of play opening to close. This type of pass can be used on weekends, holidays and school break days. A second, less expensive option is the Weekday Twilight Pass. This pass is good for one evening from 4-9 p.m. on weekdays only. Day discounts are available for groups of 10 or more guests via the park's group sales department. Annual Passes are also available at the park or online. According to park pricing policies, annual passes are approximately the same cost as three family visits. If you live in the area or plan to visit the park more than three times in one calendar year, the Annual Pass might be the more cost effective option. There are no refunds for Annual Passes, and holders cannot use the pass on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.

    Overnight Stays

    • Turn your water park visit into a family vacation or work retreat and stay overnight at CoCo Key. Kids under 12 eat free with at least one paying adult in the hotel's Parkside Grill restaurant. Go to the Grand Cafe if you are looking for a light snack or coffee.
