Beaches in Varadero, Cuba

Located on the northern coast of Cuba, Varadero is a popular beach holiday destination with a stretch of more than 20 kilometers of sandy beach. You can explore caves or go scuba diving, deep sea fishing or boating. In recent years Valadero has benefited from an influx of foreign investors who have built resorts along the coast with easy access to the beach. Different sections of the beach offer different activities and attractions.
  1. Ecologic Beach

    • Snorkelling is a popular past time on the beach.

      Further away from the main section of the beach you can visit one of the oldest trees in Cuba, El Patriarca at an ecologically protected area. Ecologic beach is pristine with fewer visitors and virgin sands. You can see the Cayo Piedra islet from the beach and with shallow waters you can snorkel alongside many varieties of fish. Guided tours to landmarks such as Laguna del Tesoro are also possible from here.

    Marina

    • Boats can be hired at the marina.

      From the marina you can take a boat cruise, hire a yacht or take part in one of the many water sports on offer including water skiing, scuba diving or banana boat rides. Alternatively, you can swim with dolphins or take a catamaran ride. This area of the beach can be particularly busy as it is a central point for the beach activities.

    Beach Activities

    • Golf at Valadero.

      Dotted along the length of the beach at Valadero you can hire rowboats, sailboats or jet skis and other sporting equipment. The rental companies are situated on the beach and easily accessible by foot from your hotel. Inland but adjacent to the beach are a golf course, cafes and restaurants, bars and an amusement park. You can also walk through Josone Park which is nine hectares of parkland close to the beach.
