      Explore the Oristano region of Sardinia. In the Oristano region, you will find the Ruins of Tharros and the Thermal Baths of Fordongianus. The ruins of Tharros were built up during the Phoenician and Punic age and were recently discovered on the hill of Su Muru Mannu. Throughout the ruins are religious and public monuments, such as temples, thermal baths and the aqueduct. The Thermal Baths of Fordongianus are found in a large thermal complex. The main area of the complex contains a pool that contained warm water from the surrounding sulphureous springs. There is another thermal bath located south of the main pool that contained water that was artificially heated. In the village of Fordongianus, you will find other ruins, such as the Forum, the amphitheatre and several underground tombs and urban structures.

The Grotto of Ispinigoli is another beautiful cave well known for its stalagmites. In both caves, you can see evidence of the presence of man in ancient times. The bottom of the Su Gorropu Gorge can be visited with the help of a guide and is full of large smooth rocks, natural small lakes and ponds and birds of prey that like to fly over head. Explore unreachable parts of the island via a ride on the Trenino Verde, also know as the “little green train,” which is an old steam engine train that travels through Nuoro region.
