South American Tours for Singles

Socially active singles of all ages can blend a much-needed getaway with an immersion in South American history, culture and nature. Tours are available that fit everyone's wallet, level of comfort and sense of adventure. Some tour companies provide a roommate matching service for those who do not wish to pay an additional fee for a single room, and unless otherwise included as part of the tour package, airfares are the responsibility of the participant.
  1. Santiago, Easter Island, and Torres del Paine

      South American Vacations in Hollywood, Florida, features a singles tour of Chile, with visits to Santiago, Chile, Torres del Paine National Park in southern Chile, and isolated Easter Island, more than 2000 miles west of Chile. This 12-day tour, which departs daily year-round, costs between $4,200 and $5,500, depending on the choice of hotel accommodations, three-star through deluxe, as of February 2011. Groups of up to eight are escorted to Easter Island and Torres del Paine.

    Wines & Wonders of South America

      Collette Vacations, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, offers singles tours of the wine regions of Argentina and Chile. Tours are available on select dates in January through April, October and November. Participants will travel through Chile's wine country aboard an historic 1913 steam locomotive, explore Iguazu National Park in Brazil, and have a home-cooked meal with an Argentinian family near the Andes Mountains. Cost of this tour is approximately $2,400 per person, as of February 2011.

    Legacy of the Incas with the Amazon & Galapagos

      Globus Journeys of Littleton, Colorado, offers a 22-day South American tour which includes a four-night cruise around the Galapagos Islands, two nights in a Peruvian Amazon Jungle lodge and a flight over the Nazca Lines. Participants will also tour Lake Titicaca by motorboat and visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas near Cusco, Peru. Tours run every month except in August and December. Cost of the tour begins at $7,995 per person, as of February 2011.

      One of the lengthier South American tours, this 67-day trip by Gap Adventures, New York City, New York, is available to singles and friends aged 18 to 39. Spanning six countries, the journey begins in Lima, Peru, and continues through Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Argentina, ending in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The trip includes a guided tour of Machu Picchu and a four-day Inca trail hike. Departures are available March through November, and cost is approximately $6,200, as of February 2011.

    Northern Patagonia Multisport

      REI Adventures, based in Sumner, Washington, provides singles tours of South America for more daring travelers. This 10-day tour involves hiking, mountain biking, rafting and climbing in the Chile/Argentina border's Lake District. In Argentina, tour members will hike Ventisquero Negro (the black glacier), climb to the summit of Chile's 9,300-foot Villarrica Volcano and raft nearby Trancura River. Tours are in January, February, October, November and December. Cost per person is $3,999 for REI members and $4,400 for non-members, as of February 2011.
