Why was uncle sam standing over south America and the US?

There is no evidence that Uncle Sam, the personification of the United States government, has ever stood over South America and the US.

Uncle Sam is a popular national personification of the United States government, originating from the War of 1812. He is frequently depicted as an elderly white male with a long white beard, wearing a top hat and striped pants. Uncle Sam does not have a physical presence and therefore it's not possible for him to stand over any countries or regions.
