Why did the British give America land all way to Mississippi?

The British did not give America land all the way to the Mississippi River. The Treaty of Paris, which ended the French and Indian War in 1763, gave Britain control of all French territory in North America east of the Mississippi River, including Canada and Florida. The British also gained control of Spanish Florida in exchange for Cuba.

The British did not want to give America land all the way to the Mississippi River because they feared that the colonists would become too powerful and independent. They also wanted to keep the Native American tribes in the Ohio River Valley as allies against the French.
