Where is the city of Kavala located?

The city of Kavala is located in northeastern Greece, specifically, it is situated on the eastern coast of the region of Macedonia, facing the northern part of the Aegean Sea. It is the capital of the regional unit of Kavala and the second largest city in Macedonia, after Thessaloniki. Kavala lies approximately 150 kilometers northeast of Thessaloniki and about 700 kilometers north of Athens.
