The FSM's key population centers (each on a different island/atoll):

• Palikir (Pohnpei) – National capital
• Weno (Chuuk) – Chuuk State capital
• Kolonia (Pohnpei) – Former capital, largest town
• Tofol (Kosrae) – Kosrae State capital
• Lelu (Kosrae) – Historic royal center
• Ebeye (Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands) – Dense urban settlement
• Majuro (Majuro Atoll, Marshall Islands) – RMI capital
• Jaluit (Jaluit Atoll, Marshall Islands) – Historic administrative center
• Arno (Arno Atoll, Marshall Islands)
• Aur (Aur Atoll, Marshall Islands)

Note: The last five are in the Marshall Islands, a separate nation often grouped with Micronesia culturally/geographically.
