Choose your accommodations. Gulf Shores State Park offers accommodations for every type of camper. Basic camp sites start at $25 and go up to $35 for a pull-through RV spot on the lake. Weekly and monthly rates are available during the winter months. Eleven lakeside cottages start at $200 per night as of late 2010. Cabins are also available starting at $85 per night. The park is dog friendly; your leashed dog is welcome on the trails and in the campgrounds for an extra fee of $15 per night.
Call 800-252-7275 to reserve your camping spot. Reservations may be made by phone Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will need to make a deposit at the time you book your space, so have your credit card ready.
Plan your activities. The park's nine hiking trails are available any time the park is open, no permit required. The 18 hole golf course is open seven days a week and features a pro shop and snack bar. Green fees start at $21 for nine holes. Fresh and salt water fishing is available; a fishing permit and an Alabama fishing license, both available at park headquarters, are required.
Enjoy your trip. Other amenities available at the park include free wi-fi at the Activity Center, geocachinig and a variety of programs on plant and wildlife through the Nature Center. The city of Gulf Coast is nearby and provides ample opportunity to purchase or replenish your supplies.
