What is AVA Singapore?

The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) was a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development responsible for food safety, animal and plant health, and agri-food industry development in Singapore. It was formed on 1 April 2000 through the merger of the Primary Production Department, the Veterinary Services, and the Quarantine and Inspection Department.

On 1 April 2019, AVA was merged into the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).
