Where does Hawaiian garbage go?

The answer is: to the bottom of the sea.

Most of the garbage that is produced in the United States ends up in landfills or is recycled within the country. However, a large percentage of the garbage that is produced in Hawaii specifically does not end up in landfills or is recycled. Instead, it ends up at the bottom of the sea. This is because Hawaii is an island state and does not have a lot of land available for landfills. Additionally, shipping garbage to the mainland for recycling is too expensive. As a result, the majority of the garbage produced in Hawaii is dumped at sea.
