Things to Do on Your Birthday in Las Vegas

Where better to spend your birthday than in the world's capital of live entertainment? Las Vegas offers thousands of options for party-goers. Birthday dinners are a cinch--the Strip has dozens of restaurants and eateries for a special big meal, while the city's lively hotels have plenty of options for live shows, thrilling experiences and late-night partying.

  1. Theater

    • One of the Las Vegas' most famous live shows pits two ancient societies against each other in a tale of warfare, power and love. If you like live theater and big-budget production shows, spend your big day watching "KÀ," a Cirque du Soleil-produced show, that includes a fully rotating stage and allows the fighters in the show to take flying kicks and impossible jumps around the theater.

If the show's warrior society storyline is not your cup of tea, Cirque du Soleil produces a number of shows in Las Vegas, including the wildly popular "Love," based around the music of The Beatles, or the sexually explosive "Zumanity," playing at New York, New York. Whether you like tales of warfare, music or sensuality, Cirque du Soleil has something for everyone.

    Roller Coasters

    • Some birthdays require a little adrenaline rush. If thrills are your way to celebrate, look up to the great tower in the sky. The Stratosphere Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas features a number of attractions on the tower's roof, 100 stories high. For a real scare, check out Insanity, where riders strap into a massive robotic arm that spins and drops riders at speeds of 3 Gs, all while dangling 900 feet up in the air. The ride even tilts 70 degrees at one point, and thrill-seekers find themselves facing straight down. The hotel's Big Shot ride shoots passengers up 160 feet at 45 miles per hour until they are 1,081 feet above the Strip, while the X-Scream teeters 27 feet over the edge of the roof, only to stop in a heart-pounding jolt.
