Las Vegas, Nevada is home to many resorts, casinos and attractions. While most Las Vegas attractions and shows cost money, several entertainment options are available free for visitors on a budget. In addition to the activities listed here, most resorts and casinos allow visitors free entrance to their heavily-themed lobbies and shopping areas.
Visit the lions at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. Admission to the lion habitat is free, and the habitat is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The lion habitat is spread over eight and one-half acres of land, specially designed for the MGM lions. The lions continue to be cared for by their trainer and owner, Keith Evans, who has more than 30 years experience with exotic animals.

Located inside the Bellagio resort, the conservatory and botanical gardens change themes for each season. The gardens are open seven days a week, 24 hours a day, and admission is free. The 140 horticulturists work daily on their creations, which often include bridges, gazebos and a variety of water features.

Enjoy the Bellagio fountains without entering the resort. The fountains were designed for the amusement of Las Vegas visitors, according to Bellagio's website. Each show involves the fountains choreographed to a variety of music and every show is unique. Shows are offered weekdays from 3 to 8 p.m. every half hour, and on weekends and holidays from noon until 8 p.m. on the half hour. Shows are held nightly from 8 p.m. until midnight every 15 minutes. The Bellagio website notes that shows may be canceled due to high wind.

See the namesake birds at the Flamingo resort. Admission to the Flamingo's wildlife habitat is free, and it is open daily from 8 a.m. until dusk. The habitat is home to a flock of Chilean flamingos, in addition to koi, turtles, swans and ducks. The habitat is designed to be an authentic environment, with plants imported from around the world.
