Best Things to Do in Vegas

Las Vegas is a city filled with all sorts of attractions. The casinos are, of course, the primary reason most people visit Las Vegas, but there are plenty of other things to do. Las Vegas is home to shows which range from adult entertainment to Broadway-style shows and magic shows. There are also attractions geared especially toward families.

  1. Casinos

    • Casinos are plentiful, both on the famous Strip and for several blocks around it. Part of the fun of visiting Las Vegas is strolling along the Strip with your cup of nickels, and ducking in and out of different hotels to try your luck at their casinos and to sample the buffets offered by various properties.

Some of the more famous casinos are Bellagio, Mandalay Bay and the MGM Grand Hotel. There are many more, however, and each offers a slightly different atmosphere.

    Shows

    • Las Vegas has several varieties of shows. Some of these are for adult audiences only. These include the Chippendales and a different kind of magic show presented by a lovely lady named Scarlett and her seductive ladies.

Other shows can be attended by families or by those who like their entertainment to be more sedate. These include "The Lion King," a production based on the Disney movie, Blue Man Group, and an aquatic show.

    Things To Do With Kids

    • Las Vegas is not often thought of as a family place, but the fact is there are several attractions that are suited for adults and kids alike.

The Adventuredome is an indoor amusement park located at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino. Its main rides are a roller coaster, a gravity ride and a water ride. More sedate rides and amusements are available also.

Located a few miles from Las Vegas is the Las Vegas Zoo. This zoo is home to a family of Barbary Apes and is the only place in the United States where you can see them. Further, the zoo encourages kids to get involved in the visit by providing them opportunities to hand-feed goats and birds that live in the park.

Back in the city itself, the MGM Grand Casino and Hotel is home to a lion habitat. This walk-through exhibit is free and is a good way to spend a little time before or after a meal.
