Here are a few suggestions of what some may consider the best 10 things to do in the Las Vegas area.
Las Vegas brings Paris to you at The Paris Hotel and Casino. One of the best things to do is explore this hotel's Eiffel Tower. The top of the tower is very romantic and offers fantastic views of the world-famous Strip. For an out-of-this-world light show, head downtown to the famous Freemont Street Experience. Downtown has cheap eats, so grab a snack and enjoy this spectacular light show free of charge.
If you have an affinity for thrill rides, give Manhattan Express a try. This roof-top roller coaster has all the twists and turns. For added excitement, this roller coaster is situated on the very top of The New York, New York Hotel and Casino. After leaving the Manhattan express, head over to the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino and go for a spin on Insanity The Ride. Located nearly 900 feet off the ground, the ride is basically a mechanical arm that spins riders at a 70-degree angle.
Any Cirque du Soleil performance is terrific. The Cirque du Soleil is hands down one of the best shows in town. Another local staple is Legends In Concert at Harrah's Hotel and Casino. This is the only show that has performers doing Elvis, Cher, The Beatles and Tina Turner on the same stage. The performers in this show sing with a live band instead of recorded tracks, which provides realistic show-stopping performances.
Experience something totally off the beaten path by going on a tour of haunted Las Vegas. This 2 1/2-hour tour takes you to all of the most frightening sites in the city. Visit sites rumored to be haunted by some of the biggest celebrities in the world, such as Bugsy Siegel, Elvis and Liberace. For a refreshing change of pace, check out the Dancing Fountains at Bellagio Hotel and Casino. This water show is free and features the music of such greats as Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin.
