The Best Things to Do in Las Vegas at Night

When taking a trip to Las Vegas, don't settle for expensive, overrated bars and nightclubs. There is plenty to do in Vegas once the sun falls, whether you have an adult audience, a romantic pair or the entire family. Vegas attracts so many types of tourists and visitors all year long; rest assured there is something for everyone here.

  1. Kart Racing

    • Besides being required to be five feet tall, over 18 or accompanied by a guardian, Fast Lap Indoor Kart Racing is one of the best attractions in Vegas that very few people know about. Drivers are loaded into karts that can push 50 miles per hour and given 10 full minutes to race around the track as many times as they can. As of 2010, each race costs $25, or you can pay $62 for three races. This joint stays open until 11 pm, and may be a great place to kick off your night.

    Fremont Street

    • While in Vegas, you have to be open to a tacky experience or two. Fremont Street consists of five blocks lined with vendors, shops and kiosks selling food and outlandish merchandise. The sky above these five blocks is made of a steel mesh ceiling which, at night, becomes a high-tech laser show. Music plays in between the five laser shows spread throughout the evening. In the end, you won't believe Fremont Street until you've walked down it. While it is over the top, it can be a more relaxed version of the chaotic Strip.

    Venetian Hotel

    • If you've never been to Italy and have no plans of going soon, you'll have to stop by the Venetian hotel. For $50 or $60, you can be privately paddled down a man-made canal in a gondola by a singing gondolier. The walls and floors of the Venetian are frescoed and marbled, making this hotel a fantastic place to sit awhile and marvel. Grab a gelato and take a stroll and a gondola ride for a romantic night.

    Bellagio Fountains

    • Perhaps the most amazing thing about this fountain and light show is that it's outdoors and therefore free to watch. The lights and water are choreographed, drawing massive crowds every 15 minutes on the dot. If you are looking to create a personal or romantic moment, visit during the weekdays when there are less tourists. If you want to party, follow the crowd and stop at the light show in between bars.
