Things to Do on the Vegas Strip

Las Vegas could easily be classified as "the city that never sleeps," second only to New York City. The city is in the southwestern corner of Nevada. Millions flock to "Sin City" to gamble, party, drink, dine or take in a show each year. Visitors can find something to do at any time, day or night. It's wise to plan ahead so your first trip to Vegas isn't overwhelming.
  1. Accommodations

    • A four-mile section of Las Vegas Boulevard South is known as the "Strip." According to WhyGoLasVegas.com, nearly two dozen huge hotels are on the Strip, along with a few smaller varieties. If you want to be within walking distance of nearly everything, find a hotel that is located mid-Strip, such as the Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, Bally's or Harrah's.

Slot machines, video poker and roulette are just a few of the ways you may strike it rich. Cheaper table games, including blackjack and craps, are typically found on weekdays at smaller casinos.

    Nightlife

    • The sun goes down, the lights come up and Vegas comes alive at night. Well-known celebrities often perform in Vegas. Adult revues and strip clubs are also easy to find. If you wait until the day of the show, some venues offer half-price tickets. Tix 4 Tonight has six locations on the Strip.
