Why is there a need to put sand on beaches?
Sand is not usually put on beaches because it is already naturally occuring. Beach replenishment or beach nourishment, on the other hand, are processes where sand is added to beaches that have been eroded or are in danger of eroding due to rising sea levels. This replenishment helps to protect fragile coastal ecosystems and properties along the shore. While this involves adding sand to existing beaches, it is not adding sand or changing its color for aesthetic or recreational purposes.
