Agriculture is the major occupation of people in Uttarakhand. About 70% of the population of the state is engaged in agriculture and related activities. The main crops grown in the state are wheat, rice, maize, barley, pulses, and oilseeds. Fruits, vegetables, and spices are also grown in abundance.
