Is Brighton in the London Metropolitan Area? No.

Brighton is a seaside city on England's south coast in East Sussex, about 50 miles south of London. It is not part of the London Metropolitan Area (also known as the London Commuter Belt), which includes surrounding counties like Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, and Kent.

While many Brighton residents commute to London by train (~1 hour), the city maintains its own distinct identity, economy, and local government separate from Greater London.
