Taunton is a town in Somerset, England. It is located in the south-west of England and is the county town of Somerset. Taunton is situated on the River Tone, about 35 miles (56 km) south-west of Bristol and 25 miles (40 km) north-east of Exeter. The town has a population of around 65,000 people.
