When was London Borough of Tower Hamlets created?

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets was created on 1 April 1965, by the merger of the former Metropolitan Boroughs of Poplar and Stepney, and parts of the Metropolitan Boroughs of Bethnal Green and Westminster.
