What country owns Jerusalem?

Jerusalem is a contested city, claimed by both Israel and Palestine as their capital. Israel controls the western part of the city, including the Old City, while Palestine controls the eastern part. The international community does not recognize Israel's annexation of East Jerusalem, and considers the entire city to be under Israeli occupation.
