The Shah of Iran's 1959 Visit to the United States

Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi visited the U.S. from June 24 to July 1, 1959. He met with President Dwight D. Eisenhower multiple times to discuss the Middle East political situation, regional stability, and strengthening economic ties. The Shah also toured New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco, meeting local officials and business leaders.
