Downeast Maine

Maine is the sole New England state possessing a distinct peninsula.

Known as Downeast Maine or “the County,” it extends ~100 miles (160 km), encompassing Washington, Hancock, and Knox counties.

Its northern tip, West Quoddy Head, is the easternmost point of the contiguous United States.
