The point where the equator (0° latitude) meets the prime meridian (0° longitude) lies in the Gulf of Guinea, approximately 610 km (380 mi) south of Ghana and 1,070 km (670 mi) west of Gabon. This spot—often called "Null Island"—is in international waters and marked only by a weather buoy.
