Weather in Denmark, Wisconsin

Denmark, Wisconsin is a village of 2,100 people about 15 minutes southeast of Green Bay. The village is home to several dairies that produce a variety of cheeses. The Devil's River State Recreational Trail also runs through Denmark. The annual Danish Fall Festival features a parade, samples from the local dairies, musical guests and a petting zoo. Demark experiences all four seasons and faces many weather extremes.
  1. Winter

    • Winters in Denmark are cold, snowy and overcast. The average high temperature for January is only 26 degrees Fahrenheit, with an average low of 11. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Denmark was minus 27 degrees in 1996. Average snowfall for December through February is 35 inches. The average amount of snowfall for the year is over 53 inches. Cloudy days outnumber clear days by nearly three to one.

    Spring

    • Spring comes late to Denmark. The last frost is generally between May 3 and May 9. Snow in May is not unheard of -- 4 inches of snow fell on May 10, 1990. March highs are only in the low 40s, but the temperature rises to an average of 65 by May. Record-breaking highs in the 90s have been reported in April and May. Spring is wet, with average precipitation of 7.37 inches from March to May.

    Summer

    • Summers are pleasantly warm, with a July average high of 77 degrees. Cloudy conditions continue to predominate, however, with fewer than one-third of the days being clear; June, July and August average about 11 party cloudy days and 12 cloudy days each. August is the rainiest month in Denmark, with about 3.73 inches of precipitation on average. The highest temperature ever recorded in Denmark was 101 degrees, in July, 1995.

    Fall

    • Fall brings cooler temperatures and more cloudy days. The first frost generally occurs in early October. Temperatures in the 70s are average for September, but snow can fall as early as October. The average snowfall for November is 4.6 inches, while the average November temperature is 44 degrees. In 1976, Denmark set a monthly record low for November of minus 7 degrees. About half the days in the fall are sunny, although only eight or so each month are clear.
