After 11 years as a baker, Julius Sturgis focused his talents on the art of the pretzel. He passed his recipe onto his children, which they still use today. Built in 1784, the bakery's site was one of the original structures in Lititz. Take a tour of the historic site and watch how pretzels are made. They even give you a piece of dough and teach you how to twist your very own pretzel.
The Darlington Family uses 22 acres of natural woodland to give sanctuary to the Speedwell Wolves. First designed as an educational facility, the Wolf Sanctuary of PA (wolfsancpa.com) allows wolves to form packs, choose mates and rear their offspring. You can select from public and private tours, where guides offer the history of the sanctuary and facts on the wolves as you walk around the sanctuary and visit the packs. Full-moon tours offer a unique experience of seeing the wolves at night with a campfire, but you must be 16 years old or older to attend.
