How to Get to the Manunka Chunk Train Tunnels

The Manunka Chunk train tunnels were part of the old Lackawanna route taken by freight trains going from Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Hoboken, New Jersey, and back. The Manunka Chunk tunnel was known as a particularly hazardous part of the trail as it often flooded and was not wide enough for many of the latest trains of the day. The tunnel is located near the the town of Belvidere in northwestern New Jersey. Getting there is easy but involves driving and a little hiking.
