The "Today" show, an NBC television program, has been on the air more than 50 years, making it one of the longest-running shows in history. NBC invites people to attend taping of the three-hour program broadcast each day from 7 to 10 a.m. at NBC's Studio 1A in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza. Since the show offers no individual studio tickets, you'll need to join the general audience outside the studio if you want to watch the show get taped. Get lucky, and you may even appear on TV for a few seconds.
Make an interesting banner that you can wave while standing in the audience. Make the sign funny or cute or interesting to improve your chances that the cameras will focus on you for a few seconds. Add color and illustrations to make the sign more inviting.
Wake up early enough on the day you want to be part of the audience to reach the studio by 6 a.m. Take your banner with you.
Take a city bus or drive to the studio located on the corner of 49th and Rockefeller Center. Parking lots are available in the vicinity of Rockefeller Center. You'll also find bus stops in the area, so check the schedule beforehand to see if that's an option for you.
Head to the southeast corner of the block, since that area is located right behind the anchors taping the show.
Start waving your sign once the show starts broadcasting at 7 a.m. Keep holding up your banner until the show is done broadcasting at 10 a.m.
Keep smiling to increase your chances that the camera will catch you on camera.
