Media is a borough within Delaware County and is predominantly a suburban area. It's 17 miles west of downtown Philadelphia and has a population of almost 6,000. It's home to the two-year technical college, Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades. The downtown part of Media is quaint with local stores, restaurants and businesses, and the surrounding areas are decidedly rural. It's approximately 8 square miles and has a trolley that runs down the main street.
Haverford is a township that includes portions of the pleasant and family-oriented communities of Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Drexel Hill and Wynnewood. The population of the combined communities is almost 50,000 and it is 8 miles from downtown Philadelphia. It's a predominantly suburban area with a solid school system and plenty of parks and recreation centers. It's home to Haverford College, a four-year liberal arts college. Haverford offers plenty of activities and events for families and is considered a safe place to live. It has its own police department and is served by five fire departments
Radnor Township was named "The Best Place to Live in the Suburbs" by Philadelphia Magazine. It's 15 miles from downtown Philadelphia and is 13.8 square miles. Radnor boasts the Willows Park, a 47-acre estate that is a choice spot for weddings, private parties and special events. Cabrini College is in Radnor and Villanova University is close by. It has a strong school district and offers plenty of recreational areas and activities.
Chadds Ford is a township in Delaware County that was known as Birmingham Township until 1996. It's 8.84 square miles and is 25 miles from downtown Philadelphia. The well-known painters N.C., Andrew and Jamie Wyeth lived in Chadds Ford, which also is home to the Brandywine River Museum, which holds a large collection of their work. It's considered to have one of the best school districts in Pennsylvania. It's a rural area where deer are common sights.
