Pennsylvanians have lived in the town of Galeton since the 1800s. A 10-minute drive from Gaines leads to PA Canyon, a long gorge that cuts through Potter County at depths of up to 1,500 feet. Here, visitors can hike, bicycle or ride motorcycles through the winding roads and trails surrounding the gorge. The nearest dining options require driving into downtown Galeton.
