Restaurants in Harborplace, Baltimore

The Harborplace festival marketplace opened its doors to the public in 1980. As the centrepiece for the rejuvenation of the center of Baltimore, the complex's two towers--the Pratt Street Pavilion and the Light Street Pavilion--are home to dozens of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as several hotels. Whatever your taste or budget, it's likely you will find somewhere suitable within the Harborplace.

  1. Edo Sushi

    • Named as one of the city's top restaurants by Baltimore Magazine every year from 1998 to 2006, Edo Sushi offers a range of authentic Japanese dishes. As well as pre-wrapped pieces cold dishes, customers are able to ask for the raw fish to be served "sashami" style, while the kitchen also cooks up a range of salads, teriyaki platters, warm soups and tempura dishes. Edo Sushi is located on the second level of the Pratt Street complex and is open every day except Monday, with late openings on Friday and Saturday.

    J Paul's

    • Since opening in 1997, J Paul's has worked to bring the "prohibition-era" charm of its original Washington, DC, venue to Baltimore's waterfront. Designed as an old-style dining saloon, the restaurant offers a simple menu of hearty American classics, including crab and shrimp, burgers and wings, and salads. Alongside its food, J Paul's also offers a variety of home-brewed beers, including its award-winning 1889 Amber Ale. The restaurant offers Happy Hour drink specials Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and guests are welcome to make use of an outside bar and dining area in good weather.

    Phillips Seafood

    • As befits its location overlooking the waterfront, Phillips prides itself on serving up only the freshest seafood. The venue offers special lunch, dinner and kids menus, all of which include staples of the sea such as crab, and customers are also invited to "Wine Down" on Tuesday evenings, when the restaurant offers half-priced bottles of wine with every meal. Philips also runs a buffet and an "express" version of its restaurant within the Harborplace complex, with all of its concessions offering complimentary wireless Internet access.

La Tasca Spanish Tapas Bar and Restaurant

    • Another of the chains bringing world cuisine to Maryland, La Tasca Spanish Tapas Bar and Restaurant is situated across two levels in the Pratt Street Complex. Customers are invited to choose from around 45 different tapas, along with six types of paella and a range of typically Spanish drinks such as sangria and red wine. Between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., La Tasca offers reduced-price tapas and drinks, but only if you sit at the bar.

    Uno Chicago Grill

    • Situated on the second level of the Pratt Street Complex, Uno Chicago Grill serves up a range of hearty staples. These include the deep dish pizza for which the Windy City is famed, as well as steaks, burgers, chicken and, in keeping with the location, seafood. Should you want something a little healthier, the menu also includes a range of salads and sandwiches. The grill opens late on Friday and Saturday evenings and there is a "Happy Hour" on drinks and bar snacks between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday to Friday.
