For tourists, the Downtown area of the city features attractions like the National Aquarium, the American Visionary Art Museum, Port Discovery Children's Museum and the Baltimore World Trade Center. Visitors to Downtown Baltimore have a variety of dining options to choose from, including some casual restaurants. These establishments range from pizzerias to seafood cafes.

  1. Faidley's Seafood

    • Faidley's Seafood is in the Lexington Market in the western end of Downtown Baltimore. The restaurant features counter service and has a small dining area, where diners can enjoy their meal. Faidley's opened for business in January 1886 and has become a Baltimore landmark and was featured in the movie "Sleepless in Seattle." As of September 2010, the restaurant held "Zagat" dining guide ratings of "extraordinary to perfection" for its food, "good to very good" for its service and "fair to good" for its decor. The crab cakes are the specialty of the house and have received "Best of" awards from publications like the "Baltimore Magazine" and "GQ Gentlemen's Quarterly." The raw bar features varieties of raw oysters on the half shell. Faidley's Seafood serves breakfast and lunch Mondays through Saturdays and closes all day on Sundays. The restaurant does not have a dress code.

    Iggies

    • A casual, self-service pizzeria, Iggies is in the northern end of Downtown Baltimore. As of August 2010, the restaurant held "Zagat" ratings of "very good to excellent" for its food and "good to very good" for its service and decor. The menu features 15 specialty pizzas, such as the Alice, topped with pesto sauce, fresh tomato, garlic, spinach mozzarella, goat and Parmesan cheeses. The restaurant does not serve alcohol, but allows guests to bring their own beer or wine to enjoy with their meals. Iggies is open for lunch and dinner Tuesdays through Sundays and closes Mondays. Reservations are not taken. Casual attire is the norm when dining at the restaurant. Outdoor seating is available on the restaurant's patio, weather permitting. Rather than having tip cups, the restaurant collections money for local and national charities.

    • Situated in the northern section of Downtown, B opened for business in May 2003. The restaurant held "Zagat" ratings of "very good to excellent" for its food, service and decor. Seventeen appetizers for sharing lead the menu, such as the artisan cheeses and charcuterie, warm olives and smoked salmon. A featured dinner entree is the bouillabaisse, made with monkfish, mussels and clams. Another is the potato gnocchi in a mushroom broth. The wine list primarily features European vintages. B serves dinner Tuesdays through Sundays and brunch every Sunday. The restaurant closes Mondays. Reservations are highly suggested. Outdoor seating is available along the sidewalk in front of the restaurant during nice weather. A children's menu is available for young diners.
