  1. Hiking Adventures

    • The Lakes Region is home to a number of popular hiking trails that will make an exciting outdoor adventure for nature lovers. Belknap Mountain is situated in the town of West Alton and features a variety of trails, such as the "Green" 0.8-mile trail or the "Red" 0.9-mile trail. Children will enjoy the fire lookout tower at the top of the mountain. When fire wardens are on duty, children can climb the tower and enjoy stunning 360-degree views of the region, including the lakes, Gunstock ski mountain and the surrounding mountains and hills.

    Visit a Farm

    • Visiting a farm can make an enjoyable afternoon activity. There are several farms settled in the hills of the Lakes Region. The Beans and Greens Farm, owned by the Howe family, is only a mile away from Lake Winnipesaukee. At the farm, visitors can peruse fresh vegetables, delicious baked goods and other homemade goods. Animal lovers will enjoy seeing the potbellied pigs, chickens and goats. For families that are visiting in the fall and are willing to spend a little money, the farm boasts a fun corn maze to wander through.

    Weirs Beach

    • Weirs Beach is a Lakes Region landmark and draws tourists and locals alike. Beach goers can enjoy catching the sun's rays from the sandy beach or cool off in the waters of Lake Winnepesaukee. When it is time for a break from lounging on the beach or playing in the sand, families can go for a walk and hit the boardwalk. The boardwalk provides beautiful views of the lake, passes the dock for the cruise ship (the M/S Mount Washington) and ends with a number of shops and restaurants.
