Wacky & Weird Places to Visit in Wisconsin

Across Wisconsin you will find attractions dedicated to the natural beauty of the state, The Green Bay Packers and its reputation as the Dairy State. Beyond your average public museums and art galleries, Wisconsin is home to a variety of wacky and weird attractions you won't find anywhere else.

  1. Top Secret

    • Wisconsin Dells is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the state. This small town comes alive in summer with water parks, boat rides and visitors seeking adventure. Here you will also find Dells Top Secret, a bizarre attraction unlike anything else in Wisconsin Dells. This attractions is an upside down version of the White House. Located in Mount Olympus' parking lot, Top Secret offers tours every 10 to 15 minutes through secret passageways with surprises around every corner.

    National Mustard Museum

    • Mount Horeb is a tiny town outside of the state's capital, Madison. Noted for its gnomes stationed throughout the city, it is also home to the National Mustard Museum. This museum is small and located in the heart of the city, but within the walls you will find an array of exhibits and facts about not only Wisconsin mustards, but those made throughout the country.

    House on the Rock

    • Only an hour from Madison is one of Wisconsin's most popular, but wacky tourist destinations, The House on the Rock. At the House on the Rock guests can schedule a tour or peruse the sights at their own pace. The house and each room, creations from the mind of Alex Jordon, has its own theme, ranging from a day at the circus to Wright-inspired glass over water views.

    Museum of Historic Torture Devices

    • In downtown Wisconsin Dells is the Museum of Historic Torture Devices. The collection dates back centuries and houses pieces from around the globe. The museum is only open from May through September. Past exhibits include "John Wayne Gacy: The Torture King of Chicago."
