The Best Italian Restaurants in New Haven, Connecticut

When it comes to fine Italian cuisine, New Haven, Connecticut is a treasure trove of possibilities. After all, hundreds of Italian families have immigrated to New Haven over the years. By 1970, about 16 percent of all Italian-Americans lived in New Haven, which features the large Wooster Square Italian neighborhood. Despite similar roots, though, New Haven's Italian eateries offer lots of variety. Many stay true to recipes that brought success more than 50 years ago. Others have altered their fare in acceptance of the influences of nearby New York City.
