Long Wharf Drive is a short street running along the bay in New Haven, Connecticut; straddling the length of the street is Long Wharf Parks. The street is lined with tourist attractions, including one or two waterfront restaurants. A few blocks away from the popular street are a variety of dining options.

  1. Leon's Restaurant

    • Leon's Restaurant is the only sit-down restaurant on Long Wharf Drive, right on the waterfront. A family owned restaurant since 1938, Leon's serves primarily Italian cuisine, although some other international dishes are on offer. Inside, Leon's is quite elegant, with white tablecloths and grey-scale photographs. The restaurant has a lunch and a dinner menu, and brunch is served every Sunday. Lunch consists of salads, seafood, sandwiches, pasta and chicken dishes. Dinner goes a bit further, with more red meat options, including veal, steak and lamb. The restaurant also has an extensive wine list, as well as a desert menu. Leon's is also host to live musical performances most weekends.

    The Greek Olive

    • The Greek Olive is a restaurant, bar and bakery located on Sargeant Drive, which runs parallel to Long Wharf Drive. It is a family-owned establishment, specializing in serving Mediterranean cuisine, including traditional Greek, Middle Eastern and Italian dishes. The restaurant features Mediterranean appointments, creating an cosmopolitan atmosphere. Among the menu items are pizzas, wraps, sandwiches, seafood, soups, chili and salads; most entrées are moderately priced--within $10 to $15. The bakery offers freshly baked cakes, pies, puddings and assorted Greek pastries. Event catering may also be arranged through the Greek Olive.

    Brazi's

    • Situated in the Food Terminal Plaza nearby Long Wharf Drive is Brazi's, a family-style Italian restaurant and bar. For lunch, Brazi's serves pasta, salad, parmigiana, traditional brick-oven pizza and gourmet pizza. Dinner includes most of the lunch menu, as well as shrimp, fish, scallops, veal and chicken, all with Italian spices and trimmings. The restaurant also caters, and conducts banquets for business events or birthdays. Brazi's is cheerily lighted and decorated, with a family-friendly ambiance. Mains on the menu hover around the $20 range.

    Sage American Grill

    • Situated on the waterfront nearby Long Wharf Drive is Sage American Grill, open seven days a week. Guests have the option of sitting on the Grill's outdoor deck with the water right below, or inside by the fireplace. The restaurant serves such American grill items as prime rib, seafood, steaks, sandwiches, lamb chops and salads. The restaurant's bar serves 40 wines by the glass, cocktails and champagne. Live music plays five nights a week at the Sage American Grill. Free parking and boat docking is available.
