BYOB Restaurants in New Haven, CT

New Haven, Connecticut, is home to a diverse array of highly rated restaurants that represent cuisines from around the world. The city also boasts a few gastronomical firsts, including the thin crust, wood oven-baked pizza and the hamburger, which was purportedly invented at Louis' Lunch around the turn of the 20th century. New Haven also features a number of B.Y.O.B. restaurants that allow patrons to bring along their favorite wines, beers or liquors.
  1. Nini's Bistro

The food is gourmet, but not intimidating, and ranges from osso bucco of pork and jerk escolar to local melon soup and portobello mushrooms stuffed with goat cheese and grilled vegetables. The restaurant is the brick-and-mortar face of a high-end catering company, so it's open only Wednesday through Saturday for dinner. Nini's prides itself on its B.Y.O.B. status, encouraging patrons to bring along their favorite drinks. Guests who don't order food are charged a $15 cover fee, and every table is charged a $2 corking fee. Reservations are suggested, but not required.
