Rendezvous Retreats is located in Forest Lake, Minnesota, which is roughly 20 miles west of Minneapolis. Rendezvous Retreats is just across the street from Forrest Lake and a short drive to smaller lakes such as Clear Lake, Mud Lake and Howard Lake. The cabins were restored in 1912, and the Arts and Crafts movement inspired the design and furnishings. The grounds also offer rooms for special events, such as a small wedding or a business meeting. Each cabin includes eight twin beds, fully functional kitchen, two full bathrooms as well as a large yard and patio. Rates start at $65 per night, as of September 2010.

Roughly 10 miles north of Rendezvous Retreats is the Get Away Shores Cabin Rental located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The cabins have a Scandinavian decor and include all of the modern amenities. Restored in 2003, the cabin includes a screened in porch, modern kitchen, baseboard heat and a wood-burning stove. Prices start at $159 a night, as of September 2010, and depend on the season. Get Away Shores also offers a variety of specials depending on how long a party will stay.
