Wisconsin's 15,000 lakes and 42,000 miles of streams and rivers provide anglers with an abundance of year-round fishing experiences. A variety of lakeside cabins connect both the novice and the master to hot fishing spots promising catches of trout, pike, bass and other sport species.
Surrounded by the Kettle Moraine State Forest, Four Seasons Resort at Cascade offers anglers a tranquil setting beside Crooked Lake. The resort's five cabins sleep five or six people and include kitchens, bathrooms, television, a fire pit and grill. Other amenities include 12-foot rowboats, a swimming beach and horseshoes. The Four Seasons tavern offers refreshments, pizza and snacks. Cabins rent by the week during summer, but only require a two-night minimum stay in spring and fall. The 91-acre Crooked Lake produces catches of bass, bluegill, crappie and perch. The four lakes within the state forest provide 860 acres for hooking walleye, panfish, muskie, large and smallmouth bass, trout and northern pike.
Settle in lakeside at Duffy's Cottages. All five of the resort's one- and two-bedroom year-round cottages sit within 250 feet of Lake Como's shores in the resort community of Lake Geneva. Each cottage offers a fully equipped kitchenette, bathrooms, queen-sized beds, towels and linens, television, Wi-Fi, a picnic table and grill. Public launches, bait shops and boat rentals are located nearby. Docking on site is free. Stocking of the 3-mile-long, 995-acre Lake Como maintains a healthy population of largemouth bass and northern pike. Just 10 minutes from the cottages, the 5,401-acre Lake Geneva expands opportunities for reeling in large and smallmouth bass, northern pike, trout and walleye.
Fishing Turtle Lake is a century-old family tradition for the owners of McIntyre's Resort near Delavan. Associated with the Kettle Moraine district, the 141-acre spring-fed lake stretches for more than a mile. Its clear waters produce largemouth bass, northern pike, crappie, perch, bluegill and sunfish. The resort's two lakeside cottages are filled with antiques and fine art. They sleep four and provide fully equipped kitchens, bathrooms, a screened porch, linens, towels and a rowboat for easy water access. The year-round cottages require a two-night minimum stay.
