Having and taking care of a child with a disability is very difficult. You and your child deserve a break, and a family vacation is a great opportunity to take one. Don't let your kid's disability get the best of him or you. There are many different places where you can vacation that accommodate children in wheelchairs so the entire family can have a great vacation.
Disney World is a great place to enjoy a vacation and is perfect for kids in wheelchairs. If your child needs a wheelchair and you don't have one, Disney World has wheelchairs available for rent. Most of the rides have a wheelchair access ramp so that you can easily wait in line for the ramp and get to the ride. Many times the staff allows this line to go first, since it takes time to get disabled children in and out of wheelchairs. Most rides even have places where you can put your belongings and park your wheelchairs, while you enjoy the ride.

Daytona Beach has 23 miles of beautiful, white sand beaches. The beach is free and it is open 24 hours, seven days a week. You can park your car right on the beach to make it easy to get your child and her wheelchair in and out of the car. You don't even need to take the wheelchair out, because there are surf chairs that can be reserved free of charge and your child can sit and enjoy the beach and water if she doesn't want to sit in the sand. Otherwise, she can enjoy herself by sitting in the sand and building a sand castle or playing in the water with adult supervision. The bathrooms on site are also handicap accessible.
