Little America, Wyoming is located at exit 68 along Interstate 80 in Wyoming. The only services at this exit are provided by the hotel, after which the location is named. The 2000 census reported that Little America has a population of 56.
Little America is located in Sweetwater County in southwest Wyoming. It is about 150 miles east of Salt Lake City, Utah, and 300 miles west of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Little America, Wyoming was founded in 1934 as a 12-room hotel. This was the first Little America hotel, a chain associated with the Sinclair Oil Corporation. It began as a resting place for transcontinental travelers. The hotel is named after a base camp established in 1928 in the Antarctic.
As of 2010, the hotel at Little America, Wyoming has 140 luxury guest rooms, a heated outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant. Despite its being the only structure at the exit, the hotel provides a gas station, restaurant, repair shops and a convenience store.
