Weather Conditions in Sedona, Arizona

Sedona, a city in north-central Arizona, boasts dry, sunny and moderate weather throughout the year. Although Sedona enjoys four seasons, temperatures are not extreme.

  1. Elevation

    • The elevation of the city is about 4,500 feet. Sedona stays cooler than other Arizona cities farther south like Phoenix, drawing visitors wanting to escape from higher temperatures. Sedona's summer daytime temperatures range from the mid-90s to about 100 degrees. Frequent late-afternoon rains can sometimes cause flash floods.

    Spring and Fall

    • The weather is warm and pleasant in the spring and fall. Days range around 70 degrees, with evening temperatures in the 50s. Most of Sedona's 4 million annual tourists visit the city during these seasons.

    Winter

    • From November through March, daytime temperatures range between the high 50s and low 60s. At night, temperatures can drop below freezing, and it may occasionally snow.
