Questa is located in Northern New Mexico and is known to outdoor enthusiasts as a prime hiking, fishing and cycling area. The Goose Lake Trail is located near Red River, which is located within minutes of Questa. The Greenie Peak Trail is located a short drive to the east of Questa, north of Red River. The trail runs through Carson National Forest, from the northern peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the mountain views from Greenie Peak. According to LASR.net, the six-mile-long Greenie Peak trail is New Mexico's highest driveable peak trail. Elevations top 11,500 feet at points along the path.
The Paliza Canyon Trail is a 20-mile-long off-road trail located about 90 miles south of Questa in the Sante Fe National Forest. The trail journeys through the forest and reaches elevations of up to 9,000 feet. It's given an easy rating by WeBeJeepin.com.
