How to Get a Disney Fast Pass

When you travel to any popular theme park you understand that a lot of your time will be spent waiting in line. Disney responded to this very basic annoyance for its visitors by creating the Fastpass system. This system allows you to RSVP for some of the more popular rides so that you can spend more time exploring the park and less time standing in long lines. By being attentive to some simple rules, you can cut your wait time and increase your fun.

Locate the attractions which offer FastPass ticketing; not all Disneyland or Disneyworld attractions do. The attractions that do will offer three lines; a FastPass Distribution Line, a FastPass Entrance line and a Standby Entrance line. All three lines feature clocks; the FastPass Entrance clock shows the current time and the Standby Entrance line shows the current wait time. Use the Standby clock to determine whether or not you need a FastPass ticket.

Get into the FastPass distribution line, one of the three lines available. This line displays a clock with the future times available for FastPass tickets. Everyone in your party who wishes to ride together needs a ticket. Insert your park pass, a Disney Resort hotel keycard or even a resort ID if available into the distribution machine. This machine will then return your pass along with your FastPass ticket, which displays the time of your return.

Return to the attraction as directed and give your ticket to the attraction attendant, or Cast Member. The FastPass gives you an hour to return back to the attraction from your designated time on the ticket. Get into the FastPass Entrance line for admission. You will not be allowed onto the attraction until your designated time. Should the attraction you choose have a pre-show, the Standby and FastPass lines merge when it begins.
