  1. Warm Weather Activities

    • Golf is very popular from early spring until the first snowfall, with about 35 public and private golf courses in the Hazelton area. Several local lakes, streams and rivers provide fishing during the warmer months. The area also has whitewater rafting, hiking and camping opportunites.

    Autumn through Winter

    • When autumn turns the trees of northeastern Pennsylvania into shades of various colors, tourists flock to Hazelton to view the show. After the leaves are gone and the snow begins to fall, the Pocono Mountains become a skiing wonderland with about thirteen designated ski areas. Other winter sports such as snowmobiling, snowboarding, sled-riding and cross-country skiing are also popular.

    • Hazeltown is home to the oldest Slovak-American church in America, and the Yuengling Brewery, the oldest in the country, is only a half-hour drive south from Hazelton. Another half-hour in the same direction is Hershey, the chocolate capital, and historic Philadelphia is two hours away.
