Attractions in Scranton range from a former coal mine to museums dedicated to Scranton's industrial past, to the Penn Paper and Supply Building shown on "The Office." Sample itineraries for groups are available at the Lackawanna County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
An "Office" convention was held in Scranton in 2007. It lasted three days, attracted an estimated 15,000 fans and included appearances by cast members and writers of the show. In 2009, an ongoing "Office"-themed tour of Scranton began. It lasts four hours and takes visitors through points of interest related to the show. Members of the cast are sometimes scheduled as part of the tour.
Hours and dates for tours and attractions may vary by season. "The Office" tour runs infrequently, only once or twice a month. The Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour is closed from December through March.
