Anaheim, located in Orange County, California, is centrally located and makes for an ideal starting point when on vacation. Dubbed "the happiest place on Earth," Disneyland has been a major draw to Anaheim since it opened in 1955. As of September 2010, the park consists of Main Street U.S.A., Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Frontierland, Mickey's Toon Town, Critter Country and New Orleans Square. Spend a day or two at the park, taking in more than 25 restaurants and all of the live entertainment, rides and attractions as possible. Upon nightfall, you can even stay at one of the park's resort hotels.

The Muzeo Museum is a state-of-the-art gallery space that aims to serve as the center of arts, entertainment, culture and education in Anaheim. Each year, Muzeo hosts three different traveling exhibits that otherwise would not show in the region. Muzeo comprises 28,000 square feet and includes two courtyards, residential space and street-level retail. As of September 2010, exhibitions at Muzeo include treasures from Napoleon's coffers, a jazz retrospective featuring the photographs of Jeff Dunas and artifacts from imperial Rome.

Santa Ana's Discovery Science Center, just under 15 minutes away from Anaheim, opened in 1998 and is Orange County's largest nonprofit educational resource. As of September 2010, Discovery Science Center boasts about 120 interactive exhibits that provide hands-on learning for children. Kids can explore geology, aeronautics, the nervous system, outer space and more.

The Grove of Anaheim hosts concerts, comedy acts and conferences, and it can accommodate up to 5,000 people. The Grove hosts about 250 different acts each year, and nearly every night of the week the venue has a performance. Unless otherwise noted, shows are open to all ages. It is a smoke-free venue, and it does not allow outside food or beverages during performances.
